z - In memorium - Steve Huelin MJ0ULE

So sad to report that 'Aussie Steve' who had been suffering from cancer for some time has passed away.

Steve was an enthusiastic radio amateur and a superb musician who brightened a number of radio club Christmas parties with a song and a tune. Steve returned to Jersey (his original home) from a number of years in Australia and had a distinctive 'Aussie' accent having been there for so long and regaled us with tales of his radio exploits from the appropriately named 'Wireless Ridge'. Steve was instrumental in developing the contesting side of activities at JARS (Jersey Amateur Radio Society - GJ3DVC) as well as spending a lot of time working on the radio and antenna installation at the club to constantly improve things. He was successful back in the 70's with his music and when I can find the picture of him from the time with his flares and moustache it will be added here.

Farewell Steve, you will be greatly missed, the world is a poorer place without you.
